AutoStore Brings World’s Fastest and Most Reliable Automated Storage and Retrieval System to CJ Logistics in Korea

NEDRE VATS, Norway — May 13th, 2024 – AutoStore™, the leading technology company in automated warehouse solutions, supports Korean fulfilment specialist CJ Logistics to transform cross-border e-commerce operations in Korea and East Asia. The AutoStore System which has been integrated at the Incheon Global Distribution Center (GDC) marks a ground-breaking enhancement in efficiency and precision for CJ Logistics.

The GDC in Incheon utilizes AutoStore’s cube-based modular storage and retrieval technology to streamline operations. 140 Robots work 24/7 at the site enabling faster and more accurate order delivery to customers across Asia and four countries in the Pacific region. The installation and integration work of the system has been ongoing throughout 2023, and the facility officially started operations in November 2023.

The continued efficiency of the site is maintained by AutoStore’s RouterTM software which calculates and tracks every path of every robot throughout every second of the day. In doing so it ensures that Robots take the fastest route and improve travel efficiency. Router is proven to both increase the number of bins presented at each working station and significantly reduce the travel distance of each robot, thereby reducing potential maintenance time and costs.

Alongside this, CJ Logistics also employs 5 units of CarouselPortTM and 13 units of RelayPortTM on site in Incheon, GDC, enhancing high-speed picking capabilities. These RelayPorts, AutoStore's fastest workstations, can handle up to 650 Bins per hour. The seamless integration of AutoStore's state-of-the-art technology ensures CJ Logistics meets customer demands for swift and efficient order fulfillment, ushering in a new era of unparalleled speed and efficiency in its logistics operations.

The successful deployment of the AutoStore System marks a significant milestone for CJ Logistics, solidifying its position in the cross-border e-commerce sector. It underscores the company's commitment to delivering tailored solutions aligning with the evolving needs of its key customers.

Mr. Cheoljoo Yoon, an executive at CJ Logistics, summarized the impact on the company’s operations: "The combination of our unique operational capabilities and AutoStore's technology has enabled us to reliably execute complex logistics processes. We will continue to enhance our cooperation with AutoStore to quickly respond to changing e-commerce trends".
