(Mönchengladbach, Germany; June 17, 2020)
Several thousand readers and users of the website www.materialfluss.de cast their votes to select, out of 60 nominated solutions, the PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR 2020. Today, materialfluss editor-in-chief, Martin Schrüfer, announced the three winners in the category of storage and picking technology. First place in this category was awarded to AutoStore for its Black Line solution, a highly dynamic automatic storage and picking system. The start-up Symbic came in 2nd place with its picking solution Logistic Lights and ICO was pleased with 3rd place for its Storojet storage system.
Peter Bimmermann, Business Development Manager D/A/CH & CEE and Managing Director of AutoStore System GmbH, Mönchengladbach, received the trophy with great pleasure during a live webinar at the digital trade fair materialfluss world + conference, which launched today.
“We are very proud of this Audience Award and would like to thank the editorial team that has created this important prize and to the readers of materialfluss who voted for us! With our excellent Black Line product line, AutoStore offers a solution for high and very dynamic requirements, which are currently increasingly in demand, especially in the field of e-commerce and micro-fulfillment,” explained Bimmermann.
The AutoStore Black Line with the modules B1 robot, aluminum double grid, containers (bins), the AutoStore controller, and the new RelayPort workstation enables up to 650 bin presentations per hour. Each B1 can deliver 30 bins per hour and will automatically change its lithium-ion battpack when needed rather than charging.
“The objective in the development of this new product line was to create a system providing the highest volume utilization with a high storage and retrieval performance. We have also introduced a 425 mm high bin with the Black Line, which provides the ability to handle larger objects in the AutoStore grid. This means AutoStore is available to new markets and applications. In addition, the system is highly efficient in terms of energy consumption and costs. The flexibility of the system means it can be expanded at any time – without impacting ongoing operations,” emphasizes Peter Bimmermann.
“AutoStore is currently on everyone’s mind and with its Black Line solution, the company has a response to the highly dynamic requirements of the market. Deservedly it has therefore been chosen by the readers of materialfluss for 1st place,” Schrüfer summed up at the digital prize handover.
The materialfluss world + conference will take place under https://weka-virtual-show.expo-ip.com/ as part of the WEKA Virtual Show until July 3, 2020.
