According to Gartner, “By 2028, 80% of warehouses and distribution centers will deploy some form of warehouse automation”. Gartner goes on to explain the importance of this trend.
“Forward-looking supply chain technology leaders should review the technology trends driven by these impacts, which are outlined in our research series. They should start building a roadmap toward deployment of those that best fit their warehouse and distribution center environments and organizational and commercial constraints.”
Gartner evaluates different methods for people-driven and automated environments and recommends: “Map out scenarios that can be supported by the various classes of intralogistics (warehouse) smart robotics,” one of which is engineered/robotic cube storage systems, “a robotized storage and order picking system that is delivered as an integrated system consisting of unified cyber-physical systems and software.” Gartner names AutoStore as a Sample Vendor in the engineered/robotic cube storage systems category.
