Helge Olsen is Director of Sales & Distribution, AutoStore at Hatteland Computer.

We asked him about his plans for CeMAT 2014 and why he thinks it’s important for AutoStore team to be present with a dedicated stand.

[Question]: Normally AutoStore leaves the show-floor to its distributors. But this year you choose to take part of CeMAT with an own stand. Why is that?

[Olsen]: You are right. Normally it’s our distributors who exhibit AutoStore at exhibitions, but CeMAT is an international exhibition where we have the possibility to meet people from the world’s logistic industry. Being at the show also gives us the chance to meet all our distributors, together with their existing  or potential new customers.

[Question]: Last CeMAT was three years ago. What has changed since then?

[Olsen]: Since 2011 we have doubled both our sales and distribution network, and as a result we have sold installations to more than 10 new countries. We have also strengthened the whole organization and invested heavily in R&D to extend and improve our product portfolio. Last but not least we have moved the production to our state-of-the-art production site in Poland.

[Question]: So are there any exciting new products that you will be showing?

[Olsen]: We have extended the footprint on our stand so there’s plenty of room for new things. We are proud to show the new Bin Lift concept operating together with the demo Grid. We have also made a new AutoStore brochures, and we will of course show the new eCommerce video at our stand.

[Question]: Can you explain what the Bin Lift is?

[Olsen]: The Bin Lift makes it possible to link several Grids together vertically. In addition, it allows the operator to have work stations below or above the Grid. This makes AutoStore an even more flexible solution, which we believe will be valued by our partners and customers.

[Question]: The show is not only for showing off though?

[Olsen]: It’s not! In 2011 we managed to create a lot of leads, and this year we expect to do even better.

[Question]: Personally, what are you looking forward to the most?

[Olsen]: I’m looking forward to show a great product and our fantastic team to the logistic automation world. I’m also looking very much forward to meet our partners, customers, potential new customers, and also to meet new people in the industry.

If someone needs a last minute ticket to the show just contact us or one of our distributors.
